Our visit to Hookin’ Ain’t Easy was pretty simple. We got the wings. They were decent. That's the end of the story, buy it definitely does not explain why people talk about this place in the first place.

If someone only wants to know whether the wings are worth bothering with, the answer from us is lukewarm. They did the job. They did not give us any reason to come back.

The setup matters here

The recurring thing in outside chatter is freshness. People who have recommended this place to me always bring up fresh fish, crabs, and seafood sourced right next door. That lines up with our own reaction, which was less “these wings were great” and more “we probably should have got the seafood.”
