What landed

Pulpo Kitchen & Lounge worked for us in a pretty simple way. We sat down, got cocktails, ordered a few small plates, and the place made its point without a lot of fuss. The cocktails were really good.

We kept the food order modest. Marinated olives, pork belly, and a little gem salad. Not some giant tour of the menu, just enough to get a read on the place. Out of those three, the pork belly was the clear favorite. No question. That was the plate that stood above the others for us, and it is the dish we would point to first here.

Why we liked it

This was a short order, but it was enough to leave us thinking of Pulpo as one of our favorite tapas places in the area.

There are a few practical things worth knowing. The have outdoor seating, live music, cocktails, wine, and a group-friendly setup. That fits the kind of place this is. Reservations are available if the goal is to settle in instead of just dropping by. The group-friendly part also makes sense for a menu built around sharing plates and drinks. We did not need a giant spread to get the appeal, but this is still the sort of format that works well when the table wants to order a few things and pass them around.
