Teak

Come for the views and vibe. That’s about it. We got oysters and a spinach salad, and the food felt mediocre for the price. Nothing about our meal changed the basic math. The setting is doing a lot of the work here.

Why people go

That is not a small thing, to be fair. Teak is on the St. Pete Pier, and the location is the whole pitch. Going out there already turns the meal into more of an outing than a quick stop. If the plan is to be on the water, sit for a while, have a drink, look around, and enjoy the general scene, Teak is okay.

On the pier, this is not the kind of restaurant where parking puts anyone ten feet from the host stand. The walk is part of it. A reservation is recommended, especially since the restaurant is set up for group use too.

Food and value

We got oysters, some fish "thing," and a spinach salad. The food was mediocre, and the pricing felt high. We were left with the feeling that we were mostly paying for where we were sitting.
